Christmas Kicks

I've been seeing some fashion blogs where people draw what they wear, and I am just enamored with the idea, so I thought I'd try it for myself. Lauren and I went out to Christmas in the Park last night, and these were our festive outfits!

Widowspeak

Going to see Widowspeak tonight with some friends!

Jack-O-Wackos

Did some Halloween sketches in my journal, they were a lot of fun and really got me in the Halloween spirit!

Office Doodle

I have been looking at a lot of Bruce Timm lately, especially his pin-up work and I can't get it out of my head! So I wanted to try out the style myself, and combine it with my total excitement for fall sweater weather. Thus this doodle was born. I haven't drawn anything in a cartoony style in a while, so this felt like some good practice.
Might I add- I wish I had this girl's thunderous thighs.

Reconsider the Definition of Need

Lyrics- "Admit It" by Say Anything featured in image. Good song, I recommend checking it out.

Damsel

Just messing around with monotone, limited, and graphic color. I used to have a thing for drawing Suicide Girls when I was in high-school, so going back to them as reference was very nostalgic and fun! You can view my photo reference here and other reference of Damsel here.

Pelvis

I've been very aware of how much sitting I do lately at my desk job, thus the inspiration for this sketch.

The Warn

This is a creature I've been working on, I call him "The Warn". He is about 47ft tall, and comes to smaller towns at night time in the winter months, and feeds on memories. His visits are often called "Warnings".

Concussion

Last weekend I went to a punk show in Downtown San Jose. People started thrashing around forming a mosh pit of sorts (as they do at these things), and in my attempt to move out of the way I got thrown back and hit my head on the concrete. I lost consciousness and wound up in the hospital. All in all, I am lucky to walk away with a simple concussion, some mild side effects, and a good story.
I don't remember much of what happened, but I wanted to record the images and feelings I could remember after hitting my head. I mean, how often do you get an opportunity like this? These are the results.
As I was working on these I found that my head ache was coming back, I was getting dizzy, and an overall feeling of panic was setting in. It was fascinating, and I'm glad I thought to record these feelings.
(These drawings were the ones to end my current Sketch Journal, I'll be doing a post on that sometime soon.)

Crayola Figures

I always like to find new and interesting tools to use for figure drawing, I find it to be very motivating and liberating. I haven't been to figure drawing in quite some time, so I thought Crayola Crayons would be a good choice this week. Here are a few of my favorite drawings from the session.

Head Slices

This is a drawing I did based on a photograph I find very inspiring. I edited some things out, and added some flares of my own.

Pokemon Gallery

This is my Pokemon painting I did for a charity auction. 151 artists were randomly assigned a pokemon, and mine was Caterpie!

Nubbins

I saw a pigeon today who had no feet. Just two little nubbins for legs, still walking around like a normal happy go lucky pigeon. I nearly squealed when I saw him, and he hurriedly wobbled under a nearby car. He was so funny, I had to draw him.

Megan Can't Burp

My friend Megan was complaining about trying to burp, but nothing happening. This is what I imagined.
